Advanced Features
The SMS Server is feature-rich and packed with functionality. Here are some examples.
- A User Authorisation check is performed when a message enters the system. A message will only be accepted if the sender has sufficient permissions.
- Advanced routing. Incoming text messages can be routed dynamically depending upon the content of the message, time of day or mobile number. A PIN number or keyword contained within the message may be used to look up recipient information.
- Delivery status reports are sent back to the originator of a message by e-mail or SMS.
- Send logs and statistics may be accessed by users or system administrators via a web browser.
- Opt-out-service. A white list allows the automatic or manual blocking of certain numbers or addresses. Users may automatically opt-out by texting "STOP" to the system.
- Signatures can be automatically added to an SMS message before it is sent. A signature may include the first name or initials of the sender and some corporate identification.
- An Alternative CLID may be configured on a particular channel. For example, messages sent by a user could appear to have been sent from their personal mobile telephone. Text may be specified instead of a number preventing replies.
- Short numbers assign a memorable telephone number to your service and allow you to charge-back customers for premium services.
- PIM information. Personal details such as contacts and calendar information may be sent in VCARD format to recipients.
- Long Messages may be sent in multiple parts, trimmed or summarised by removing common words or vowels.
- The Custom Dictionary will automatically replace defined words with space-saving alternatives.
